<h4><strong><strong>Course location</strong></strong></h4><p>In person location: Medford City Hall 2nd Floor, 411 West 8th Street Medford 97501</p><p>5 day Course March 9-13, 2025</p><h4><strong><strong>Course Description:</strong></strong></h4><p>This course is a capstone course for prospective ICS instructors. Students must have a working knowledge of the ICS core curriculum. This course is designed to advance instructors’ knowledge and ability to deliver Incident Command System Curricula related training courses. The student must achieve an 80% minimum pass score of a combined exam that tests the student’s knowledge on the perquisite course curriculums.</p><h4><strong><strong>Selection Criteria:</strong></strong></h4><p>Participants must have successfully:</p><ul><li>Completed the prerequisite courses</li><li>Completed recognized training to achieve qualifications in techniques of instruction and adult education methodologies</li><li>Must qualify as either a Lead or Unit instructor as noted in the NIMS Training Program</li></ul><p>The student must demonstrate a working knowledge of ICS principles. They must have worked as an Incident Commander, in a Command or General Staff position(s) on incidents, planned events, or exercises that went longer than one operational period or involved a written incident action plan and involved multiple agencies and/or jurisdictional coordination.</p><p>State, Territorial, Tribal and Local applicants for this Train the Trainer course require endorsement from the State Training Officer or equivalent to attend this course.</p><h4><strong><strong>Course Objectives:</strong></strong></h4><ul><li>Explain the background of ICS training development.</li><li>Identify key requirements within the NIMS Training Program that relate to ICS training courses.</li><li>Identify appropriate instructional techniques for the delivery of ICS curricula and facilitation of course activities.</li><li>Identify critical teaching points, participant challenges, and desired outputs for each of the ICS training courses.</li><li>Explain how to coordinate and execute course deliveries.</li></ul><h4><strong><strong>Prerequisites: </strong></strong><strong><strong>(Proof of Prerequisites must be sent to oem.training@oem.oregon.gov to be accepted into the class)</strong></strong></h4><ul><li>IS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS 100</li><li>IS-200: Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response, ICS 200</li><li>IS-700: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System</li><li>IS-800: National Response Framework (NRF), An Introduction</li><li>G0191: Emergency Operations Center/Incident Command System Interface</li><li>G0300: Intermediate Incident Command System for Expanding Incidents</li><li>G0400: Advanced Incident Command System for Command and General Staff </li><li>Formal instructor training such as NDEMU E0141, M-410, , or Fire Instructor 1 &amp; 2</li><li><strong><strong>Endorsement from the State Training Officer or equivalent is required</strong></strong><strong><strong> </strong></strong>for State, Territorial, Tribal and Local applicants to attend this Train-the-Trainer course.</li></ul><p><strong><strong>Include with your application:</strong></strong> Copies of all course completion certificates or transcripts and a separate document describing, in detail, your operational experience and teaching experience.</p><h4><strong><strong>Attendance: </strong></strong></h4><p>Per FEMA standards, no more than 10% absenteeism is allowed to receive a certificate of completion. </p><h4><strong><strong>Accessibility Requests and Questions: </strong></strong></h4><p>If you have any questions, or to request any reasonable accommodations that will facilitate your full participation in this training, please contact the OEM Training Program (oem.training@oem.oregon.gov).
