Join the festivities of the season in our popular annual holiday tour of the 1720 historic Stanley-Whitman House decorated for the holidays!

See Stanley-Whitman House in a completely new light for the holidays and join us for a tour of the historic house and enjoy period dramas performed by our costumed historic interpreters. You will be lead through the rooms featuring mini-dramas that tell the story of Christmas in Connecticut within the festively decorated National Historical Landmark historic house.Saturday, December 13 • Tours 12:00–4:00 PM (every half hour) Tours are timed and begin at 12:00 pm and depart every thirty minutes thereafter, ending with the last tour at 3:30 pm.Celebrate the season with one of Farmington’s most cherished holiday traditions. During the 19th Annual Candlelight Tours, the 1720 Whitman House comes alive with living history, theatrical interpretation, and immersive storytelling.The Roundabout Players, the museum’s volunteer living history troupe, perform historically inspired mini-dramas in each room, illustrating how Christmas in Connecticut evolved from the restraint of the colonial era to the festive celebrations of the 19th century. Visitors will encounter richly interpreted scenes, period-appropriate decoration, and the warm glow of candlelight as they move through the house on this unforgettable seasonal tour.A perfect event for families, history lovers, and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of New England holiday traditions.Suggested Donation: Non-Members $25 • Members $20 • Pay What You Can • Free Registration AvailableTo keep our programs open to all, Stanley-Whitman House offers Suggested Donation / Pay-What-You-Can pricing.
