Monalog Opening November 11 - 7 pm

Gallery 270, founded in 1998 in Westwood, NJ, flourishes just 20 miles from the nexus of the fine art photographic marketplace. While over a hundred galleries actively sell photography in NYC, Gallery 270 succeeds by catering to experienced and novice collectors seeking an increasingly rare quality in the field – value. The gallery exists to serve its’ varied community while fostering an appreciation for, and the desire to own, the work of the distinguished photographers of the 20th Century and the emergent photographers of the 21st Century from around the world. We place particular emphasis on modern emerging photographers employing traditional processes such as platinum/palladium, cyanotype and gum bichromate, where the hand of the artist is so much more intimately engaged.We also have a passion for great music and great musical photographers. As a full service gallery, we are able to find that special image or obscure photographer one may seek. A wide range of autographed monographs and out of print and vintage books delight photo book aficionados. We’re especially revered by both interested beginners just establishing a collection, and seasoned collectors who continue to add work, for our trustworthy guidance, accessibility, knowledge and friendliness. We welcome inquiries for appraisal, photo restoration, expert witness and management collection services, private or corporate.

Monalog Collective in-person opening at Gallery 270, Nov 11th - 7 pm

Thursday, November 11th, 7 - 9 PM at 270 Westwood, Ave, Westwood, NJ.Please join us for light refreshments to welcome and meet some of the artists represented in the Monalog Collective. We are thrilled to present the work of these twelve stalwart artists whose goals and Gallery 270’s run perfectly parallel. A big part of the mission of the Gallery and Collective is to extol the virtues of, and to support photography’s vintage processes. They work to create and promote an amazing variety in singular photographs of outstanding value in platinum/palladium, silver gelatin, carbon transfer, tintype, wet plate collodion tintype and ambrotype where the hand of the artist is intimately engaged. Though Gallery 270 shows these singular pieces through the highest quality scans on our digital platforms, the full dimensionality of the work can only be seen, appreciated and experienced in person; all the better at an opening where attendees can learn first hand from the creators themselves. Amazingly for these heady times in the art word, one can own one of these entirely original works that begin at $500, framing included! We look forward to welcoming you to a rare evening amongst these practitioners of “slow” photography.
