The Sound Room is aptly named. The focus is on the sound or the music. Unlike clubs where the performance may be peripheral to the experience, at the Sound Room the performance is the experience.  We are an all-ages listening room. We exist to present great music and promote jazz as an art form.The Sound Room is the home of Bay Area Jazz & Arts, a  501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on promoting the Arts.

Virtuosity and diversity define the players who all honor and serve music at the center of their lives.Rebecca, a natural improviser with a rich international career, uses highly- tuned musical instincts to deliver heartfelt melodies and shape intriguing solos, her playing informed by immersion in the cultures of jazz, Spain, Brazil and beyond. Masterful pianist Tammy Hall&#x27;s soulfulness permeates the sound of the group with her &quot;rich, emotional quality that is evident on everything she does.&quot; (Marian McParthland). Versatile bassist and composer Aaron Germain contributes his depth of musical knowledge, attention to detail and beautiful groove to the mix. Master drummer Sylvia Cuenca is active on the New York jazz scene, constantly on stage with musical legends who value her creative, swinging and magnificent playing. Special guest vocalist Tiffany Austin is simultaneously deeply rooted and inventive with her classy yet irreverent vocal expressions.
