Girls For Technology is a 501c3 nonprofit, and we work hard at combating racial & gender biases that exist in STEM fields. Our focus is improving our community by creating access to innovative educational opportunities for under-served, underrepresented girls to attend college and be better prepared to be leaders in Technology and Engineering industries. We create those college preparedness and job readiness skills by introducing girls to particular STEM skills through our programs.

GIRLS FOR TECHNOLOGY PRESENTS: BUILDING FOR EQUITY ACCELERATORCome check out your favorite Connecticut women of color entrepreneurs, all under one roof, pitching for cash 💵prizes in the Building For Equity Accelerator hosted by Girls For Technology.<ul><li>Date: November 11, 2021</li><li>Time: 5:30-9:00p</li><li>Location: Society Room of Hartford - 31 Pratt St. Hartford, CT. </li></ul>Registration to this event is required and will include food &amp; drinks. So how does it work? 9 startups have been selected to present a 2-minute pitch of their businesses. Each pitch will be followed by 3 minutes of Q&amp;A from a panel of esteemed judges. At the end, our judges will come together and select the top 3 businesses! These winners will receive cash prizes of $10,000, $5,000, and $3,000 respectively. We will follow local and CDC guidelines regarding social distancing and mask-wearing. COVID-19 Precautions -Please note this is an indoor event and these guidelines are subject to change. By order of the City of Hartford, masks are required for all attendees, regardless of vaccination status, unless currently consuming food or beverage. Please do not attend this event if you are sick or have any symptoms of COVID-19.In the state of CT, capacity restrictions for gatherings and social events are eliminated. Vaccinated persons are not required to wear a mask at indoor events, however, it is strongly encouraged. Unvaccinated individuals are still required to wear a mask indoors, with an exemption of people consuming food or beverage in an indoor venue serving food/beverage. Additionally, we are closely monitoring the ever-evolving pandemic conditions.
