This group is for anyone who feels they struggle with depression during the transition from fall into winter and throughout winter. This group is also for anyone interested in learning more about Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

Why CBT?

Accepted Answer

CBT is an effective treatment for Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). CBT has been found to be comparably effective to light therapy for treating issues like SAD. CBT has been significantly researched and also has been found to be an effective treatment for many other mental health struggles.

Who is Facilitating and Why?

Accepted Answer

Leonora Otto, Founder and Lead Clinician of Elevate MHS, will be facilitating these groups. Leonora has been facilitating therapeutic groups since 2015, and is offering this group to try to offer support to people who struggle with the transition from fall to winter.

Question 4

What Will The Groups Be Like?

Accepted Answer

The groups will include some time to learn about a concept from CBT and how it applies to weathering the shift from fall to winter. Each of the 7 groups will offer a different focus, and each group will include materials that participants can continue to utilize outside of sessions.

How Large Will The Groups Be?

Accepted Answer

All sessions are capped at 12 participants, but it is likely that attendance will vary from group to group.

How Can I Join Virtually?

Accepted Answer

You can join virtually by purchasing a ticket for the group, and then contacting info@elevatementalhealthsupports.com. You will be sent a secure Google meet link for each group that you sign up for.
