About this event

  • 4 hours

Coffee Houses became increasingly popular in the 18th Century. Tea was no longer the only item to sip out of a cup. Coffee Houses were an all inclusive environment where people of all means could meet and discuss the days news and learn something new. Coffee Houses were commonly called "Penny Universities" because a penny would get you a cup of coffee and a free education on a subject being discussed within the walls of the house.

This will be a recreated version with 18th Century Living Historians enjoying coffee, playing games, and talking amongst each other. Come and sit and discuss different topics with those that recreate the 18th Century dozens of times each year.
