Discover the background and Neuroscience behind the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) study and the importance of being Trauma-Responsive.

What are the ACEs? They are the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study. There are 10 ACEs. They are grouped by neglect, abuse and family turmoil. ACEs have lasting emotional and health consequences for children that can continue to manifest into adulthood. The Relationship Foundation introduces the Trauma-Informed and Trauma-Responsive Education approach. It focuses on Healthy Relationships as an essential element of building resilience. These skills and knowledge can be applied with the family, in the workplace, in schools, anywhere.A Trauma-Informed school/workplace fosters an atmosphere of emotional and physical safety that can alleviate the effects of ACEs.Learn about the practical application of:<ul><ul><ul><li>The Neuroscience of Trauma</li><li>Trauma Responsive Practices</li><li>Impact of ACEs on Children and Adults</li><li>Creating Trauma-Sensitive Classrooms &amp; Workplaces</li><li>Alleviating the Effects of ACE</li></ul></ul></ul>When something happens in our outer world that has a strong emotional charge, the brain takes a snapshot of it, which is called a memory. Certain memories are activated under stress that have us revert to early childhood behaviors. Learning about one’s ACEs helps to put such instances into perspective so we can respond in a more measured way. Mental health awareness is vital.
