Celebrate Georgia Tech's homecoming with Operation Books Redux: Inspired by the great library book passing of 1953!

<h3>Join us Friday, Oct. 29 at noon as the Georgia Tech Library celebrates 1953&#x27;s &quot;Operation Books&quot; to mark the return of physical materials to the building.</h3><h3>This event, held in conjunction with the Georgia Tech Alumni Association and using resources furnished exclusively by the Georgia Tech Archives, will include a brief history of the original book passing from the Carnegie Building to Price Gilbert from Jennifer Rogers (HTS 07, MS HSTS 09), the association’s historian.</h3><h3>The original event -- which also took place on Oct. 29 -- included the entire freshman class of 1953 moving some 55,000 books as penance for &quot;pranks&quot; on the eve of the Tulane football game.</h3><h3>After remarks, feel free to join into the human chain placing the last 53 books back on the shelves of Price Gilbert for the Core Collection.</h3><h3><em>*registration is not required, but recommended </em></h3><h3></h3><h3><strong>Location</strong>: Library Courtyard (between Price Gilbert Memorial Library and Crosland Tower)</h3>
