No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. Your partnership helps make this nonprofit possible.(As a social enterprise, the Hive shares our story with photos of classes and events. Click here to join today.</a></p><h2>Original Goodness: Uncovering Our Divine Spark</h2><h3>Domains: Contemplative Practice</h3><p>“Goodness has no need to enter the soul,” wrote a fourteenth- century mystic.  “It is there already, simply unperceived.”</p><p>Love, compassion, hope, kindness, freedom- these obviously good qualities don’t need to be “put into” each human, they need to be only uncovered. We, human beings, already have these qualities.</p><p> Original Goodness will help anyone wanting to learn how to meditate on the mundane, the everyday, the ordinary. In fact it is through meditation on the ordinary and the goodness of human beings that we begin to “uncover” the basic goodness of all human beings.</p><p>Come join us as we spend some time thinking about and meditating on how each of us carries a spark of the Divine. How each of us has Original Goodness. This goodness has oftentimes been buried under all of the “stuff” we think we need in order to be happy and successful.</p><p>Joan Colleran Hoxsey, DMin, recently published a memoir, <em>The Saving Power of Love: A Catholic Girl’s Healing Journey</em>.  She previously co-authored <em>Finding the ExtraOrdinary Marriage: Appreciative Inquiry for Couples </em>with her late husband, Michael, and has written multiple articles and chapters on the use of VIA character strengths integrated with Appreciative Inquiry for various industry and professional journals. Joan holds a Master of the Science of Education from Youngstown State University (Ohio) and a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Graduate Theological Foundation, Notre Dame, Indiana. She and her husband raised six “nearly perfect children” and have 11 “perfect grandchildren” and five “surely great grandchildren”.  </p><h3>Your Zoom link will be sent with your registration confirmation.
