Come help us rake leaves at Riverside Park's annual volunteer event - it's a great way to give back and enjoy the fall weather!

Join us for a fun day of giving back to our community by helping rake leaves in the beautiful Riverside Park. This event is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, meet new people, and make a difference. No experience necessary, just bring your energy and enthusiasm! You may know of the "Leave the leaves" practice that we follow to protect habitat for insect friends in our natural areas.For our Leaf Lift event, we focus on removing leaves from high traffic pathways to provide a safer and cleaner experience in the park. And the best part? All leaves removed from these projects will be composted in Riverside Park, either supporting our work at our compost compound or going back into our woodland and restoration areas. Don't forget to wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes.Let's work together to keep our park looking its best.Here a friendly reminder on what to bring to be prepared for volunteering in Riverside:What to wear/bring:<ul><li>Filled water bottle</li><li>Sturdy, closed-toe shoes</li><li>Comfortable, seasonally-appropriate layers</li><li>Long pants &amp; socks that cover your ankles</li><li>Sunscreen</li><li>Optional: Hat</li></ul>We will provide gloves for volunteers and any tools/materials needed for the project. Please always keep personal items with you, as we do not have a secure area for personal belongings.For the safety of our staff and volunteers, if on the day of the project you are sick or not feeling well, STAY HOME! It is not worth the risk to you or to others.
