Joe Pug at Vessel Craft Coffee

Joe Pug at Vessel Craft Coffee

By North Shore Point House Concerts

Overview

“Unless your surname is Dylan, Waits, Ritter or Prine, you could face-palm yourself to death trying to pen songs half as inspired." -- Paste

Doors at 7. Music at 8 p.m. No opener.

Joe Pug moved to Chicago in 2005, working as a carpenter. His debut, "Nation of a Heat," in 2008 made a bunch of best-of lists. He's played The NorVa so this is a rare chance to see him in an intimate setting.

"Pug's lyrics go straight for the gut in layered, complex songs that he delivers with absolute conviction. Playing guitar and harmonica, Pug's voice is distinctive, bringing to mind early Tom Waits (before he swallowed the chain-link fence), Prine, and even Dylan at times." -- Louisville Life.
