WWA Presents: "Telling Our Story: Using Theme & Symbolism"

Writers With Attitude is a free, creative writing workshop founded in New York City. We are a collective of experienced and amateur writers of all mediums, with a passion for storytelling and improving our craft. We meet biweekly on Sundays from 1:00-3:00pm to discuss all things from literature, writing, the world, and everything in between. We pride ourselves on being a safe space where new and returning members feel respected, heard, and supported in sharing their writing and ideas.

Hey Writers,Join us for our first meeting of the 2025-2026 workshop! This year, our theme is storytelling. During each session, we will explore techniques to enhance our writing and storytelling, helping us shape the architecture of our narratives. Week 3: Telling Our Story: Using Theme &amp; SymbolismExplore how theme and symbolism work together to transform personal experiences into quality writing.📅 Date: Sunday, November 9, 2025🕐 Time: 1:00 PM (Doors open at 12:45. We have a 15-minute grace period, after which we can’t allow late arrivals into the session.)📍 Location: 131 Spring Street, 4th Floor, New York, NY🎟️ RSVP here – Seating is limited, so don’t wait! All writers 21+ are welcome.📚 Mandatory reading: Self-Portrait as Kendrick Lamar, Laughing to the Bank by Ashanti Anderson (Members have access to all readings for the year. What are some reasons people wear ‘masks’ in everyday life: emotionally, socially, or culturally? How can a mask be both a form of protection and a barrier? How does turning that idea into a symbol help us explore deeper themes in writing? We will discuss our thoughts during the meeting! Workshopping will be available at our in-person meetings only. Virtual options are not available at this time.We hope to see you there &lt;3
