2026  DFW Metroplex Founders' Day Honoree Reception

The DFW Metroplex Chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated consists of Beta Mu Omega (Fort Worth, TX),  Kappa Lambda (Texas Christian University), Kappa Nu (Texas Woman's University), Tau Rho Omega (Carrollton, TX), Alpha Beta Iota Omega (Bedford, TX), Alpha Beta Phi Omega (Grand Prairie, TX), Upsilon Omicron ( Tarleton State University).  Each year these chapters come together to celebrate the founders of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and recognize members who have achieved 25, 50, 65 and 75 years of membership.

Grand Prairie Events & Convention Center

The DFW AKA Founders’ Day celebration is a collaboration of seven local AKA chapters. At the event, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. celebrate the legacy of the sorority's founding on January 15, 1908. This day reflects and affirms a commitment to scholarship, service, and sisterhood. Founders' Day celebrations strengthen sisterly bonds, honors members' years of service, and engages the community service and outreach, fostering pride in the sorority's century-long impact. Members, guests and the general public are invited to join this occasion. The DFW Founders’ Day event is a celebratory occasion that recognizes the long-term service of each local chapter’s members. Member service milestones acknowledged during the event include – Diamond members with 75 years of membership; Pearl members with 65 years of membership; Golden members with 50 years of membership; and Silver members with 25 years of membership.
