Admission is FREE, and everyone is welcome! Discover the magic of storytelling through engaging author sessions and explore the wonders of literature with family and friends.

The 2026 Las Vegas Book Festival will feature renowned authors Tony Weaver Jr., Natalie Baszile, Jon Ralston, Ayana Gray, Clarence A. Haynes, Kimberly Lemming, Meghan Le Fay, Vanessa L. Torres and Yasmin Angoe.

Open to all ages, the Las Vegas Book Festival, now in its 25th year, returns to Las Vegas Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Plan to attend this free annual event held downtown at the Historic Fifth Street School, located at 401 S. Fourth St.

Local television reporter and political analyst Steve Sebelius will interview Jon Ralston, author of “The Game Changer: How Harrry Reid Remade the Rules and Showed Democrats How to Fight.” All the “Legends, Myths and Aliens Too!” authors — Ayana Gray, Clarence A. Haynes, Kimberly Lemming, Meghan Le Fay, Vanessa L. Torres and Yasmin Angoe — will be on an out-of-this-world panel together exploring the supernatural secrets, sweeping fantasy worlds, and comedic science fiction from the genre’s best-selling authors. From ancient lore to alien encounters, this panel promises a spirited look at worlds both familiar and fantastical. The headline authors will have their books for sale and will hold book signings after their panel discussions.

The annual Spark! Youth Poetry Competition for Clark County students in grades 9-12 is taking applications now. The competition will take place at the Poetry Pavilion at the festival, with cash prizes awarded to the top three competitors. Learn more and register to participate here. The deadline to register is Oct. 12, 2026.

A full schedule of book festival activities that includes panel discussions, book signings, arts and crafts for children and read-alongs will be shared closer to the event.

Vendor opportunities are closed for this event.
