Cognitive distortions happen when what you felt got hijacked by what you thought. It turns into something different losing the meaning.

<p>We will explore some of the common distortions that cause anxiety, fear, stress, worry and sleeplessness. When you understand how your emotions get lost in the translation you can correct the errors, and avoid the distortions. The language we use in everyday life represents and impacts how we experience our world. We attempt to capture thoughts and ideas to describe what we see around us using words. Inevitably things get lost in translation and what we experience doesn&#x27;t match what we think. Distortions happen where some aspect of the idea and experience are given more weight and importance or focus than they deserve or actually represent. How we distort things provides us with pointers on what the underlying beliefs are about ourselves and others.  When our mind blows things out of proportion, the meaning gets lots, the emotions get tangled and our actions become unpredictable.</p>

<p>Join us to explore some of the common distortions that cause anxiety. For those who completed the 7-day Challenge to Overcome Anxiety and Stress, this is the closing ceremony to wrap up the week of learning. Everyone is welcome to join and will benefit from this overview of Cognitive Distortions.  Its not to late to do the Challenge if you are struggling with anxiety, stress or worry. </p>
