Get Creative on Ossabaw: Day Trip to Ossabaw Island
Saturday, May 30. Paint, sketch, write, or take photos on Ossabaw Island. Let the island be your muse.
Be creative on Ossabaw Island. Paint, draw, make photographs, write, play your musical instruments, or experience free range creativity on Ossabaw’s North End. Bring your own creative supplies that you can transport without assistance. This is a “no agenda” walking day on Ossabaw Island’s North End.
What to bring:
• Lunches and beverage.
• Filled and refillable water bottles.
• All of your own creative materials. (You must be able to carry all your gear without assistance.)
About the day: Travel one hour by pontoon boat through the Moon River District and across Ossaabaw Sound to the North End of Ossabaw Island.
An Ossabaw Island visit includes excellent art-making inspiration: lush maritime forests and marsh wetlands, 19th- and 20th-century historic buildings, and possible sightings of a variety of wildlife including wading birds and feral hogs, as well as free-roaming domesticated donkeys, and perhaps an alligator. Take short hikes on forest and marsh-side trails.
About a week before the trip, those who have registered will receive an email that outlines details for the day. It will include a link to the Ossabaw Island Foundation's Release/Hold Harmless form for completion by all who visit Ossabaw.
