AAUW Sacramento was organized in 1920 and has over 250 members working towards the same goal of Breaking through Barriers for Women and Girls.Members enjoy working toward a common goal while experiencing intellectual growth and creating a network of friends through branch programs and events.  AAUW Sacramento offers the opportunity to get involved in many philanthropic programs:Local Scholarships that support women attending or returning to collegePublic Policy issues that have a direct impact on women and girlsOutreach including College/University Partner Member Program, Speech Trek, Start Smart, and Tech TrekAmerican Association of University Women (AAUW) is a nationwide network of more than 150,000 members and donors, 1,000 branches, and 700 college/university institution partners.  Since being founded in 1881, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day — educational, social, economic, and political. Canceled: An in-person event! We will have an in-person Ice Cream Social and  Membership Drive at Eastern Oak Park on Oct. 23rd.

Eastern Oak Park

Canceled:On Saturday, October 23, from 12:30-2:30 p.m., we will be having an in-person Ice Cream Social and Membership Drive. We are meeting at Eastern Oak Park, Maple picnic site (the one closest to the parking lot), 3127 Eastern Ave., Sacramento. We will reunite as a branch over ice cream from the Made in the Shade ice cream truck.Please bring a potential new member to introduce them to AAUW Sacramento. Every member who brings a guest will be entered into a raffle to win a prize. There is an $8 charge to cover the cost of the ice cream and rental fees. You can either mail a check to Cathy Locke (Cathy&#x27;s address can be found in the Member Directory) or pay by credit card when you register in advance on Eventbrite (credit card fees and Eventbrite bring that total to $9.42). Please bring proof of vaccination, a photo ID, and a mask. Either bring your COVID-19 vaccination card or digital proof of vaccination.
