The Dominican Film Festival celebrates the best in Dominican Cinema with the goal to enrich the artistic experience of New York's diverse cultural audience.The Dominican Film Festival's mission is to promote the new generation of Dominican filmmakers as well as the established one, its film industry, and to strengthen the vital and expanding economic and cultural relationship with the United States.We also aim to keep New York City audiences informed about the Dominican Cinema and its relation to the history, politics and social life of this country, as treated by the film makers, through the subjects and aesthetic approach they focus on.

Documental “Nuestra Tierra”, una mirada íntima a la naturaleza y cultura de RDSantiago de los Caballeros, RD. El cineasta dominicano Ronny Sosa presentó su más reciente obra, el documental “Nuestra Tierra” (Our Island), una experiencia cinematográfica sensorial que explora la relación entre naturaleza, cultura y sostenibilidad en la República Dominicana.Narrado por Hony Estrella, el filme convierte la belleza de la isla en protagonista, al tiempo que visibiliza los desafíos ambientales que enfrentan sus ecosistemas y comunidades. Documentary "Our Land," an intimate look at the nature and culture of the Dominican Republic. Dominican filmmaker Ronny Sosa presented his latest work, the documentary "Our Land" (Our Island), a sensorial cinematic experience that explores the relationship between nature, culture, and sustainability in the Dominican Republic. Narrated by Hony Estrella, the film makes the beauty of the island the centerpiece, while highlighting the environmental challenges facing its ecosystems and communities.
