Our October bird walk will take place in South Valley Park Open Space.  We will explore the scrub oak habitat in search of foothills birds.

South Valley Park

Bird Walks are offered on a monthly basis. Each season brings new species and new bird behavior. We will spend the morning looking for birds, working on identification and enjoy time outdoors with fellow bird lovers. Birders of all levels of experience are invited to join our walks including children with an interest in birds (as long as they are accompanied by an adult!).Our October bird walk will take place in South Valley Park Open Space. We will be exploring the scrub oak habitat at this location and discovering the diversity of bird species who live there. We will discuss the relationships between native plants, birds, insects and local wildlife. We’ll be comparing Woodhouse's vs. Steller’s Jays, Mountain vs. Black-capped Chickadees, three nuthatch species, Downy vs. Hairy Woodpeckers, raptors and many more.Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Dina Baker at dina@thenaturelink.com or 720-679-4449 with any questions regarding our walks.
