Deploying Multimodal AI at the Edge: Engineering Patterns for Real-World Perfo

Achyut Sarma Boggaram | Torc Robotics

Multimodal AI models that integrate vision, point cloud, radar, and other sensor modalities are rapidly moving from research prototypes into real production systems. At ODSC, where attendees are primarily builders and practitioners looking for applied guidance, this workshop focuses on the practical realities of turning multimodal models into reliable, resource-efficient edge deployments. The session examines how architectural decisions impact performance under real-world constraints such as fixed compute budgets, strict latency targets, and limited memory. We will explore how to reason about accuracy versus latency trade-offs, design multimodal architectures with deployment in mind, and structure optimization workflows that translate offline gains into on-device performance. Topics include sensor fusion trade-offs, runtime system constraints, memory and compute budgeting, model conversion and benchmarking pipelines, and validation strategies under distribution shift.

Practical Foundations for Organization-Wide AI Adoption

Ivan Lourenço Gomes, Daweb Schools | Founder

Most professionals use AI as a quick productivity hack: drafting emails, summarizing notes, rewriting text. That saves time, but real value only emerges when AI reduces repetition, increases consistency, and scales beyond the individual. In this 30-minute talk, Ivan will show how to move from one-off prompts to reusable AI systems that actually scale at work. We’ll cover the core foundations behind effective AI use at work: designing reusable workflows, organizing reference knowledge, breaking complex work into manageable steps, and establishing feedback loops. Using real workplace scenarios, Ivan will demonstrate how teams can turn AI into a dependable assistant for communication, decision-making, and operations, without advanced technical skills or complex tooling. The focus is not on specific AI tools, but on principles that work across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and beyond.

The Verifier–Compiler Loop

Ruslan Belkin | Inflection AI

Agents can look great in a demo and still fail in production—especially once they're multi‑turn, tool‑using, and operating under real policies, risk limits, and customer expectations. As organizations deploy more agents across workflows, the problem gets sharper: each additional handoff, tool call, or sub‑agent multiplies the ways agents can fail, and small per‑step error rates compound into major business impact. This session argues that the fastest path to reliability is not "better models," but better judgment: explicitly capturing how your organization wants agents to behave when goals conflict (speed vs certainty, customer empathy vs strict compliance, containment vs escalation). We'll walk through a practical, production-ready pattern: a human‑governed verifier–compiler that continuously verifies agent behavior against expert standards and compiles expert decisions into a versioned behavioral contract—the Options Model—with two layers.
