<h3>Nō Studios will be participating in the Historic Third Ward's Gallery Night MKE on Friday, October 17th. Enjoy an open house throughout our first floor Gallery + Skyline rooftop. All ages are welcome!</h3>Free Event • 5 P—11:00pm.

<h3>LASHAWNDRA JONES</h3>

LaShawnda Jones is a photographer who enjoys capturing the life, art and architecture around her. Her body of work includes architecture, art, historic events, landmarks, landscapes, portraits, protests, and composite images.LaShawnda grew up in the Midwest, in several cities along Lake Michigan. She attended high school and college in Milwaukee. After college, she moved to New York City. Before returning to Milwauke four years ago, she spent three years in the Southwest desert of Tucson.These three cities are the focus of her ongoing 360° perspective study - 360NYC, 360TUC, and 360MKE. This series is about revisiting spaces over time to capture her subjects in varying lighting and seasons. Images from her 360MKE series are showing at Nō Studios this fall along with her 2025 Juneteenth Series featuring images of Vice President Harris's August 2024 DNC appearance from the Forum in Milwaukee.

<h3>BLACK OAKS</h3>

Black Jack Oaks is a visionary artist whose work explores the intersections of humanity, nature, and spirit. Through bold symbolism and flowing organic forms, imagery comes to life that reveals the deep connections between inner consciousness, spiritual experience, and the living world. The art blends surrealism with sacred geometry, transforming archetypes of growth, pain, duality, harmony, and illumination into visual narratives. Rooted in introspection, plant medicine, and universal themes, Black Jack Oaks’ creations, invite viewers into a contemplative space where mind, body, and earth are seen as one interconnected, ever flowing whole.Black Oaks also goes by “Mr. B” at Tamarack Waldorf school, where he teaches fifth grade, and Upper Grades movement. He is also a songwriter, and plays locally in the Never Dead Beat Poets, a lyrically driven duo he shares with his partner.o exist in each other's worlds… explore each other's imagination. A good story, and all its characters, act as bridges that build connections from our past and build toward a healing future. Ultimately her process is about the juxtaposition between images and stories, and exploration of the human, familial, connection. Families (birth or chosen) are beautifully complex and her work reveals those layers to make space for vulnerability, courageous conversations and healing.

<h3>TAYLOR KATZMAN</h3>

Rooted in the vibrant city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, I am a contemporary artist dedicated to exploring the emotional depths of the human experience through acrylic paint. Specializing in portrait and figurative paintings, I draw inspiration from my surroundings as well as my memories. I authentically convey a range of emotions through expressionistic imagery &amp; techniques. My work delves into the complexities of human communication, expressed through nuanced facial expressions and body language.
