KISS OF THE WHIP
Highly Devoted Electronics from Baltimore, Maryland
KISS OF THE WHIP is a dark electronic project formed in 2017 by Montreal-born artist and producer Tristan Victor, and located in Baltimore, Maryland (United States). His first two albums, &#x27;Like Love Only Real&#x27; (self-released, 2018) and &#x27;New Lows&#x27; (Diffuse Reality Records, 2019) were rooted in darkwave, post-punk, and dark electro. The project quickly gained an underground following in Europe and the United States, and following a 2020 signing to German Cold Transmission Music, Victor is bringing his darkly uplifting sounds to an increasing variety of audiences.

HALLOWS
After releasing their five-song EP, Subtle, All That Is True sees HALLOWS drastically grow as a band. The album witnesses the duo explore deeper into sound design and atmosphere, taking risks and unorthodox approaches to their home-base of darkwave/post-punk. With the flair of Seattle producer Aaron C. Schroeder, All That Is True displays HALLOWS&#x27; growing maturity as a band and their desire to explore further into their genre, while pulling influence from an eclectic array of music and art.

While Subtle explored longing, loneliness, and sadness, All That Is True explores themes of searching for a purpose, coming to terms with loss, and garnering the strength to face adversity. The album was written mostly during times of unrest in Seattle (and the world) where both V and D experienced the brutality of oppression first hand. These experiences served as inspiration for much of this output, pouring out angst, rebellion, and the drive to march towards a brighter future. Though the album is not explicitly political, it explores the emotional journey of existing in an unjust world.
