2021 Fire Season Community Drill: Briefing (9am) and Debriefing (1030am)

Berkeley Fire Dept holds a briefing preceding the Oct. 9 drill to guide you and follow the drill with a debrief to share lessons learned.

On October 9, Berkeley will conduct the 2021 Fire Season Community Drill. Berkeley community members will practice receiving messages from the City of Berkeley like those that could be sent to community members during Extreme Fire Weather and wildfire emergencies in Berkeley. The drill will be a chance to practice your household’s plans and to become familiar with the types of emergency alerts the City may send during a possible or active wildfire threat in Berkeley. Berkeley Fire Dept holds a briefing (9a-925am) preceding the Oct. 9 drill to guide you and follow the drill with a debrief (1030am) to share lessons learned.See below for more details on how to participate and improve your readiness for Fire Weather in Berkeley.Please direct any questions to the Office of Emergency Services at oes@cityofberkeley.info or (510) 812-9519.

Getting ready for the drill will also help prepare you for a real wildfire! Here are the key steps to be ready for the drill on Oct 8-9: 	Sign up for Emergency Alerts from <a href="https://member.everbridge.net/453003085612570/login" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">AC Alert</a> to receive email alerts during the drill.o	To receive alerts targeted to your home, make sure to add your home address under “Addresses of Interest”	Visit the Zonehaven website at <a href="https://community.zonehaven.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">community.zonehaven.com</a> and find your home’s evacuation zone.
