The San Francisco Public Library ‘s Book Arts &amp;amp; Special Collections Center holdsdistinguished collections in the art, history and development of the book, includingbookbinding and papermaking; contemporary calligraphy from more than 500 Americanand international scribes and lettering artists; nineteenth century children’s books; 450years of wit &amp;amp; humor in forty-one languages and dialects; California authors; and littlemagazines and zines. These collections are accessible to everyone, from the curiousreader to the scholar: a rich cultural heritage serving San Francisco and beyond. OurSpecial Collection librarians will show off some of their favorites in a lively tour for APHAconference attendees.
