Duo Stephanie & Saar ~ Stephanie Ho & Saar Ahuvia
1882 Erard concert grand and 1930 Mason & Hamlin parlour grand

Ludwig van Beethoven
String Qt. No. 9 in C, Op. 59, No. 3 "Razumovsky",
1st mvt., transcr. for piano four-hands

Symphony No. 6 in F, Op. 68 "Pastorale",
transcr. for two pianos

Celebrated Duo Stephanie & Saar return for their most compelling La Grua performance yet, an afternoon of Beethoven at his finest. This concert, the duo's fourth Music Matters appearance, will vividly evoke the stirring intimacy of 19th-century music-making.

A fabulous piano four-hands transcription will illuminate a Razumovsky quartet movement from within, revealing it in crystal clarity.

Long before orchestras became common, our ancestors first heard the great classical scores on piano. Or, as this afternoon, on two pianos. Beethoven's beloved Pastorale Symphony will gleam in the scrumptious sonic interplay between a great 19th-c. Parisian concert grand and La Grua's exquisite Boston parlour grand. A feast of Beethoven – five days before Christmas!
