Family Nature Journaling

Family Nature Journaling

Urfer Family ParkSarasota, FL
Friday, Mar 20 from 10 am to 12 pm
Overview

Learn to observe and record the natural world through drawing and writing.

Join us at Urfer Family Park for a guided nature journaling event, where participants will learn to observe and record the natural world through drawing and writing. This hands-on program offers a relaxing way to connect with nature while sharpening observation skills. Nature journaling is both fun and meaningful, as it deepens your appreciation for wildlife and helps you notice details that you might otherwise miss. Beginners and experienced journalers are welcome. All materials will be provided; however, you are welcome to bring your own journal and additional materials if you wish.

This program is suitable for all ages, but does require periods of sustained focus and quiet observation. All participants under the age of 16 must attend with a parent or guardian.

Participants should bring a water bottle and wear clothing appropriate for the weather. We recommend sun protection, bug spray, and closed-toe shoes, no flip-flops. You may wish to bring binoculars or a camera as well. Restrooms and water fountains are available on site. You may wish to bring a bag lunch or snack to enjoy at the nature center after the program.

This program is provided in partnership with the Sarasota County Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources Department.

Your gift of $5 or more per person will help us save wild places and continue to engage people in nature. We greatly appreciate your support!
