Aperçu

This workshop invites you to pause, breathe, and create art inspired by nature, combining both an artistic exercise and journaling exercise.

In our busy, always-connected world, we rarely slow down to notice the beauty around us. This workshop invites you to pause, breathe, and create art inspired by nature—just like Georgia O'Keeffe did in the New Mexico desert.

What We'll Do:

Paint a colorful background using bright reds, pinks, yellows, and purples inspired by her works

Mindful meditation to help you be present in the moment

Practice being mindful by:

Focusing on your breath

Noticing how your body feels

Really looking at what's in front of you

Turning off distractions (like phone notifications)

Finding what's beautiful to you

Sketch loosely to warm up your hand

Draw directly on your painted background with markers—no pencil first! Be bold and notice the small details that catch your eye

Writing Exercise- Go back to your work and add in quotes or words that capture your mood & the experience

Write about your experience—how did it feel to slow down and really look?
