When New York Focus launched five years ago with nothing but a WordPress and trove of ideas to our name, we had no idea that our tiny outlet would blossom into a full-fledged investigative newsroom with a team of dedicated reporters and editors around the state. We’re so excited to celebrate our fifth birthday and hope you’ll celebrate with us. Together, let's toast to local journalism, holding our elected officials to account, and the greatest state in America. Join us at Crystal Lake to celebrate five years of independent, statewide, nonprofit journalism in New York — raising a glass to what the New York Focus community has accomplished together, and to all that’s ahead.
