Join expert birder and Wilton resident Joe Bear to seek out fall migrants stopping over at Allen's Meadow on their way south.

Allen’s Meadow, Wilton 8:00 – 10:00 am on four dates:<ul><li>Wednesday, September 15 </li><li>Saturday, September 25</li><li>Wednesday, September 29</li><li>Saturday, October 9</li></ul>Please register for each walk separately. The fall migrants are moving through Connecticut and Allen’s Meadow is a fall migration hot spot. Join expert birder and Wilton resident Joe Bear for a leisurely 2-hour walk through the diverse habitats Allen’s Meadow has to offer – open field, woodland, edges, pond, and swamp – to seek out birds making a stopover on their journeys south to their winter homes. Whether you’re a more experienced birder hoping to identify some confusing fall warblers or a complete beginner, this is the walk for you. Fall sightings in recent years have included bobolinks, dickcissels, 14 warbler species, a variety of flycatchers, and a wide range of sparrows. And who knows what unexpected feathered friend might put in an appearance? If anyone can spot it – or hear it -- Joe can!Joe Bear has been birding for over 30 years, having led both domestic and international trips for CT Audubon and other nature-based organizations. Formerly employed in the banking industry, he spent 3 years based in London, UK, which turned out to be an ideal base for birding forays to Europe, Asia, and Africa. Joe enjoys sharing his passion and enthusiasm for birds and believes that experienced or novice, there&#x27;s always something new to learn every time we pick up our bins.
