The Metro Phoenix EcoFlora project is making plant science meaningful and open for everyone, while we learn about the biodiversity of our urban desert home. We need your help! A rare plant in a park? A sleeping bobcat in the backyard? What else could be out there? Let’s find out! Using iNaturalist, a free app that can identify plants and animals, you can help document urban biodiversity. Join the Metro Phoenix EcoFlora project to study plants and wildlife in metro Phoenix. Plus, enjoy events, rewards, EcoQuest challenges and more.

Desert Botanical Garden

Join the Metro Phoenix EcoFlora and artist Aimee Ollinger as we explore the microscopic world of plants. We will be discussing basic botany, plants in art, and using hand lenses and a microscope to view plant parts in an exciting way. Class materials will be provided, all you need to bring is yourself! You are welcome to bring your own plant pieces to examine. We will meet you at admissions and guide you to the lab. Look for someone in an orange Metro Phoenix EcoFlora shirt!This event is limited to 10 people. We will follow CDC recommended guidelines for mask wearing and social distancing.
