Motivational Interviewing Training: Helping People Change in a Collaborative EnvironmentMotivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based and best practice for helping professionals. MI is a person-centered counseling and communication style to elicit clients&#x27; internal motivation to make changes in their lives and to overcome their ambivalence to the change process. The advanced MI training will include:•	Review the MI spirit, OARS skills, and &quot;What worked&quot; since the last training. This advanced class will build upon the previous training and provide tools to use with your clients. •	Delve deeper into listening for change talk,•	Creating agenda setting for structuring time with clients and have a deeper more meaningful communication experience. We will explore both sides of the client&#x27;s ambivalence, ex. &quot;On one hand you want to leave your husband you know the treatment you experience with him is unacceptable and at the same time you have children together and you love him and want the relationship to work, did I get that right?&quot; •	We will discuss the righting reflex &quot;What not to do that can scare clients away&quot; knowing these.•	Using value sorts of cards to use with reluctant clients, what are the values they grew up with that still hold true for them and how are their values congruent with the current decisions they need to make? particularly useful with the clients that say they do not want to participate.•	 MI is an engagement tool to use with parents, siblings, and children. •	Role acknowledgment: you explain your role and the work you do and how it impacts, are the court order and you send reports to the Judge to show him/her how well the client is achieving.•	MI is a collaborative style of partnership. •	The research shows that when programs communicate in this way with clients it improves program retention because you are not judging the client, you have the MI spirit of being empathic, compassionate, and an advocate of the clients&#x27; well-being.•	 The teacher can put parents at ease from the initial intake by exploring their hopes, wishes, and dreams for their child while they are in your care. Parents may have questions for you that can be a part of the agenda-setting process, informing them that you have some important information you would like to share and you&#x27;re wondering what they would like to discuss. Start with the clients&#x27; concerns or questions 1st because you control the time, let clients know how much time you have to work with them and once the client is satisfied with your responses the meeting make not take as long.•	MI prevents helping professional Burnout.
