NOTE: THIS EVENT IS NOW ONLINE DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHERBy the time March rolls around, teachers tend to know their students pretty well. But the energy needed to keep things engaging can be low. Pressure increases to prepare for annual assessments, and it can be difficult to make time for engagement and fun. Given this reality:<ul><li>What else might be possible?</li><li>How can we maintain a laser-like focus on growing students' intellect while still nurturing their inquiry, imagination, and integrity?</li></ul>You'll find the answers to these questions in our March Institutes. Join us for a high-energy hands-on experience where you'll walk away with four different student-led projects ready to implement in your classroom. Each project is adaptable to any grade level, virtually guarantees a joyful outcome, and requires little to no material resources:<ul><li>Embodying Mathematical Concepts through Dance</li><li>Building Problem-Solving and Literacy Skills through Automatic Writing</li><li>Documenting the Past through Oral Histories</li><li>Practicing Citizen Science by Watching Things Grow</li></ul>Learning is more fun with colleagues! Consider bringing a team from your school. That team can include classroom teachers, instructional aides, specials teachers, support staff, school leaders, and more. This class is COMPLETELY FREE and there is no size limit to the number of participants you bring.DC Public School teachers get PLUs through the Washington Teachers' Union for participation. Certificates of completion are available upon request for all participants.
