The City of Union City is excited to announce the completion of the Union City Boulevard Bike Lanes Improvement Project and invites the community to join in celebrating this major milestone.This project spans approximately 2.4 miles, from Smith Street to the southern City limits, and represents a significant investment in safer, more accessible, and sustainable transportation for Union City residents. Enhancements include new protected bike lanes, upgraded traffic signals and improved roadway design to ensure a safer experience for bicyclists, pedestrians, and motorists alike. These upgrades also strengthen connectivity to neighborhood parks, schools, and regional trail networks, promoting healthier and greener travel options throughout the community. <h3>Celebration Highlights: </h3><ul><li>Ribbon Cutting Ceremony - Join City leaders, project partners, and community members as we officially open the new bike lanes.</li><li>Ceremonial Community Bike Ride - Grab your bicycle, skateboard, roller skates, scooter, tricycle, or even a unicycle and take part in a fun ride along the new lanes.</li></ul><ul><li>Local Businesses &amp; Food Vendors - A great time to sample delicious bites from local favorites &amp; meet with our local nonprofits for resource information.</li><li>Family Activities - Enjoy bike shows from local bike clubs, and kid-friendly activities.</li></ul> The event is free and open to all ages.
