Stirring Up Healthy Recipes
The Rural Health and Nutrition Team with Clemson Extension hosts a healthy cooking class on the second Friday of every month @ 12:00 PM EST.
Welcome to Stirring Up Healthy Recipes!
Clemson Extension in South Carolina offers a monthly online healthy cooking class on the second Friday of each month from 12:00 to 12:45 PM (Eastern Time). The program is led by Julianna Lyle, MAg Ed., CLC, a Health Extension Agent on the Rural Health and Nutrition team. Julianna holds a degree in nutrition and dietetics and brings extensive experience in culinary arts and nutrition education, with a focus on chronic disease prevention and self-management. She is passionate about helping individuals and families build confidence in the kitchen, explore simple and affordable recipes, and create sustainable eating habits that support long-term health.
Stirring Up Healthy Recipes is open to everyone, with a special emphasis on supporting individuals living with or at risk for chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or obesity. Each class features practical, affordable recipes that avoid trends and fads, while offering simple strategies to support blood sugar management, heart health, weight management, and overall wellness.
Stirring Up Healthy Recipes is a good fit for anyone looking to cook simple, healthy meals in 30 minutes or less, incorporate more whole foods into their daily eating, make small adjustments to favorite recipes for a healthier twist, and build confidence in the kitchen even with limited time or experience.
Key components of Stirring Up Healthy Recipes include hands-on demonstrations, nutrition education to support chronic disease prevention and management, and tips for adapting meals to meet your needs. This class also complements the Health Extension for Diabetes (HED) program, providing valuable cooking skills to support diabetes self-management.
Cooking at home can be simple, enjoyable, and one of the most effective ways to support long-term health. Our goal is to help you build skills, try new recipes, and feel confident in making meals that nourish both your body and your goals.
We hope you will join us soon! We cannot wait to cheer you on toward your nutrition and health goals!
