From Fighting Ebola to Fighting Climate Change

The Dublin Metropolitan CARO supports and coordinates climate action undertaken by the four Local Authorities of  South Dublin, Fingal, Dun Laoghaire‐Rathdown, Dublin City.The office is funded by the Department of Climate Action, Communication Networks and Transport and is hosted by Dublin City Council as the lead authority with the Region.

An online discussion with Dr. Sinead Walsh, Climate Envoy for Ireland.

This event will be a discussion with Dr. Sinead Walsh, Climate Envoy for Ireland. Dr. Walsh is author of the fascinating book ‘Getting to Zero - a Doctor and diplomat on the Ebola Frontline’ detailing experiences of the Ebola pandemic in Sierra Leone in 2014. The discussion will include; <ul><li>Dr. Walsh&#x27;s extensive experience in the NGO and government sectors. </li></ul><ul><li>Ireland&#x27;s role in Climate Action in developing countries including examples of key achievements and projects </li></ul><ul><li>The role of Ireland in COP26 and other international climate fora. </li></ul>The webinar will include Live Q&amp;A.About the speaker:Dr. Sinead Walsh is Ireland’s Climate Envoy. Prior to this she served as the EU Ambassador to South Sudan. She has worked for Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs since 2009. She previously served as the Ambassador of Ireland to Sierra Leone and Liberia and the Head of Irish Aid in the two countries. Before joining the government, Sinead spent ten years in the NGO sector. She has an MSc in Development Studies from UCD and a PhD in Social Policy from the LSE.
