Soapbox Gallery is dedicated to presenting music, performance and works of art that engage the issues of our time.The room itself is a beautiful, meditative environment that was designed with state-of-the art acoustics to showcase exceptional musicianship from around the world.The gallery was founded on the premise that art and culture are powerful reminders of our shared humanity, which can help to shape identity and promote social evolution.Soapbox was inspired by the idea that a simple, humble box–that one stands on and delivers a speech from–can start a movement and perhaps even help to change the world.It’s our mission to create space for civil conversation between those with differing views. The intent of our programming is to create a dialogue where everyone has a seat at the table.

She has performed extensively in the New York metropolitan area and toured abroad as a headliner in France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Senegal. Audiences have come to know her for her original jazz compositions and evocative lyrics, as well as her innovative arrangements of standards and bossa nova. Her last release, entitled Wings Uncaged, featured musicians François Moutin, Billy Test, and Kush Abadey, and was named one of Downbeat Magazine's Best of 2019. Wings Uncaged reached #32 on the JazzWeek charts (#1 on the RMR jazz charts, and #8 on the NACC jazz charts). Her original music has been licensed for feature film and network television. She has sung with many renowned jazz musicians including Romero Lubambo, Ron McClure, François Moutin, Roswell Rudd, Ari Hoenig, Joel Frahm, and Yomo Toro. In 2020, Aimée was the co-writer and interpreter of two songs on Fahir Atakoglu’s jazz release For Love. The album was a collection of Atakoglu’s compositions interpreted by multiple guest artists including Buika, Luciana Souza, and Romero Lubambo among others.Guitarist Tony Romano has been a visible part of the New York City music scene for over twenty years. Just Jazz Guitar magazine wrote “His tone is beautiful and soulful, and his remarkable technique is a servant to his rich musical imagination and broad harmonic palette.” With a wide range of playing styles, Tony has toured worldwide and performed and recorded with many notable Jazz, Latin, Pop, and Broadway artists, including Randy Brecker, Joe Locke, Michael Feinstein, Bill Warfield, Steve LaSpina, Joe Bataan, Dave Valentin, Candido Camero, Chembo Corniel, Yomo Toro, Joel Frahm, Thomas Chapin, Brit Woodman, Santi DeBriano, Paul Bollenback, Stanley Jordan, Debbie Gibson, Kat Gang, Alex Gemignani, and Chuck Cooper. Tony’s guitar work can be heard on all 52 episodes of the BBC series 3rd &amp; Bird as well as the Discovery Channel miniseries Going, Going, Gone! He has also performed for NPR broadcasts, and has appeared on NBC’s The Today Show, Telemundo, and the ABC Morning Show. Tony is an Adjunct Professor at Five Towns College, and has been a Teaching Artist for the Kupferberg Center at Queens College, as well as an instructor for the National Guitar Workshop.Source:: http://www.aimeeallenmusic.com
