Most of us have fond memories of a childhood game that opened our eyes and brought a little sparkle into the universe. And as a result, so many of us want to contribute to this wonderful art form!That said, the game industry is HARD. It is not for the faint of heart. But it's also not impossible, and those brave enough to dream of a future in games are often the ones who fulfill them.At the Indie Game Academy we turn students into game devs and game devs into indie studio founders. We are on a perpetual quest to help indie devs pave their own path.

<h3>Welcome to IGA Level 1: Embark.</h3> In our introductory weekend long bootcamp, we give you the very first tools you'll need to one day launch your very own indie game studio. Spend a total of 8 hours of live, interactive lessons learning from some of the smartest professionals in games on multiple important topics.In Level 1 we focus on moving you from game concept to Playable Prototype, giving you just enough develoment experience and guidance in multiple disciplines to both identify a game that is reaslitic for you to build, and has the possibility of success. <h3>And you'll finish your first game</h3> Leave IGA Level 1 with a compelling Prototype built by you inside a game engine with your own choices and design. Walk away with the knowledge you need to test this game, prove it rules or sucks, and take it to the next level. Ever played Galaga? In every Cohort of Level 1 we change which Genre of game we theme the weekend around. This time you'll build your very own 3D version of the space shooter arcade game, and get everything you need to keep working on it, or other games like it.

<h3>It's Dangerous to Go Alone</h3> The game industry can be daunting! That's why it's so important to find the right guide. Meet your IRL Gandalf and your number one supporter for the rest of your career, Willem Delventhal, the Headmaster of the Indie Game Academy and the Wizard of Games. Joining him are 6 other incredible professors to total 7 live learning sessions in just one weekend! Collectively our professors have over 40 years of professional experience with credits including Star Wars Battlefront 2, Call of Duty, and Life by You. We love to mix it up so that you get a handful of veterans as well as some newer professors.
