Screening of the Netflix & Sony Pictures Animation animated musical "Vivo", with music by Lin-Manuel Miranda.  Followed by a Q&A.

As part of <a href="https://svatheatre.com/events/afterschoolspecial2021/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">After School Special: The 2021 School of Visual Arts Alumni Film &amp; Animation Festival</a>, we are pleased to present a screening of Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation&#x27;s new animated musical Vivo (2021), followed by a Q&amp;A with the film’s head of cinematography layout, SVA alumnus Yong Duk Jhun (MFA 2000 Computer Art). Current SVA student Renata Novaes Ferraz Pereira (MFA 2022 Computer Arts) will moderate the Q&amp;A.Synopsis: Sony Pictures Animation&#x27;s first-ever musical adventure, featuring all-new original songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda, takes audiences on an epic adventure to gorgeous and vibrant locations never before seen in animation.  The film follows a music-loving kinkajou who embarks on the journey of a lifetime to fulfill his destiny and deliver a love song for an old friend.  Featuring the voices of Lin-Manuel Miranda, Zoe Saldana, and Gloria Estefan.Vivo is rated PG, and some material may be inappropriate for very young children.  Children of all ages are welcome to attend.  Please see our COVID protocols for guests (linked below) for more information. Doors will open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening, and guests can enjoy music videos by Samuel Bayer (BFA 1987 Media Arts) in the lobby while waiting to enter. Bayer, the director behind iconic videos like Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Green Day’s “American Idiot”, will be present at select After School Special 2021 screenings for brief Q&amp;As preceding the feature films.Ticket InformationAll After School Special 2021 screenings are free and open to the public.
