Drink, Draw, and Find Inspiration in Self-Taught Art with AFAM Educator and Artist Natalie Beall

Unwind and find inspiration in self-taught art! Drink, draw, and connect virtually with AFAM Education staff and other creatives. For Texas-based, self-taught artist Frank Jones, “haints” were supernatural creatures he drew from his imagination and visions he’d experienced since age nine. In this session, AFAM educator and artist Natalie Beall will introduce works by Jones and others, exploring how self-taught artists have depicted creatures—both real and imagined. Prompts for looking and drawing will be shared throughout the evening, and participants will be invited to share their work.Space is limited; advance registration is required.
