About the Van Vleck Cultural Arts SeriesThe Van Vleck Cultural Arts Series is a new initiative designed to bring world-class artistic and intellectual programming to the heart of Montclair through an intimate, immersive experience. Developed in partnership with The Montclair Local and featuring performances by the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO) and the Manhattan String Quartet, the series offers a unique blend of chamber music and moderated speaker events with renowned artists, thought leaders, and cultural luminaries.This thoughtfully programmed series offers Montclair residents and visitors alike the rare opportunity to enjoy high-caliber cultural experiences in a neighborhood setting—fostering connection, engagement, and enrichment in an unforgettable environment.

Welcome to the next season of our Second Sunday Concert Series featuring Anthony Kalanick on the clarinet!Anthony Kalanick is a versatile clarinetist and woodwind specialist from New Jersey. He is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance at Kent State University, where he studies with Amitai Vardi. He earned his Bachelor of Music Performance degree from Montclair State University, studying under Keriann DiBari.Anthony’s musical experience spans a wide range of performance settings, including orchestral, operatic, chamber, and contemporary ensembles. As a woodwind doubler, he performs regularly on clarinet, saxophone, flute, and oboe. He is an active member of Reed Theory, a contemporary reed trio, and performs with the Erie Philharmonic.He has earned recognition in several solo competitions, including the Camerata Artists International Competition, the Charleston International Music Competition, and the Music and Stars Awards, with repertoire ranging from Mozart to Brahms to Stravinsky.
