No more trying to be mindful alone.The Hive exists to develop creative, compassionate, and mindfully-engaged citizens in the Cincinnati region through small group classes and workshops. We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. Your partnership helps make this nonprofit possible.(As a social enterprise, the Hive shares our story with photos of classes and events. Click here to join today.</a></p><h2>Poetry In Motion: Contemplative Flow Yoga</h2><h3>Domains: Body, Contemplative Practice</h3><p>Anyone who practices yoga knows that the poses, or asanas, can help you develop greater balance, strength, and flexibility. What you’ve probably discovered is that these benefits accrue not only for your physical body, but for your mind, heart, and spirit as well. Of course! The word “yoga” is derived from Sanskrit and means “yoking” or “union” – it is all about bringing harmony between body and mind, leading ultimately to the union of individual with universal consciousness.</p><p>As we begin moving back into the Hive space for some of our course offerings, Niki Pappas is offering a new in-person yoga class for those who want to add mindfulness and contemplation to their yoga flow. Join Niki for a 60-minute experience including circle sharing, breathwork, a gentle-to-moderate flowing practice, and a generous savasana. Each class will include 2-3 poems corresponding to particular asanas to expand your experience, and musical accompaniment. The sequences in this 4-week introductory series will contain core elements to provide the comfort of consistency, as well as unique elements to build skills and confidence.</p><p>This class will best serve advanced beginner and intermediate yoga practitioners, and class size will be limited to 10 participants. Please bring your favorite yoga mat, water bottle, and perhaps a hand towel. Extra mats and blankets are available at the Hive. Contact Niki with any questions at niki@cincyhive.org.</p><p>Niki Pappas has been focusing on wellness and spiritual growth for the past 10+ years, following a 20-year career in marketing research. Her endeavors have included certifications for holistic health coaching, yoga, Thai bodywork, and currently, the Enneagram. Niki has been involved with the Hive since May 2018 as an eager class participant, facilitator, cohort guide, and, since May 2020, happy member of the Hive Lead Team. Leading with Enneagram Type 4, Niki is committed to her own inner work and honored to offer and receive presence and compassion in all of her relationships. Niki lives in OTR and is the mother of two amazing young men.</p><h3>COVID EXPECTATIONS:</h3><h3>Starting Fall 2021, all in-person Hive events will re-open to the public.</h3><h3>Since the &quot;we space&quot; of the Hive is a community effort, it is important to us that we partner to make our space as safe as possible to the most vulnerable among us. </h3><h3>Because of this it is our policy to require masks if you are not yet fully vaccinated. In addition, We ask anyone who is feeling sick or has a temperature to not attend classes until they are recovered. We will closely follow CDC guidelines in regards to hot spots and may require everyone to mask in certain instances of high transmission rates.</h3><h3>The intent is to live out a core value of the Hive, which is the co-creation of the common good. We trust that if you are in community with us that you will join this shared intention. We also offer a number of online alternatives if that better meets your needs. </h3>
