We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. We hope you'll try a class and like it enough to become a regular member. Click here to join today.</a></p><h2>The Universal Christ: A Contemplative Exploration (In Person)</h2><h3>Domain: Contemplative Practice</h3><p>Widely considered to be his most important book to date, The Universal Christ: How a Forgotten Reality Can Change Everything We See, Hope For, and Believe, will form the foundation of this practice group building on the teachings of Fr. Richard Rohr. </p><p>Melding both insight and embodiment, Chris La Rue will be facilitating a small group experience for people who are new to Fr. Richard’s work and the Christian contemplative tradition, as well as those who have greater familiarity and some contemplative experience. Time for sharing and instruction in the practices will be incorporated to create a foundation allowing for insight and recognition of the impact of Fr. Richard’s teaching on Christ in day-to-day living. The role of contemplative practice as a tool for a deeper way of being will also be explored. </p><p>It is highly recommended that you be familiar with this book before the course. You can acquire a copy through most booksellers.</p><p>Chris La Rue is a member of the Hive Lead Team. A graduate student in theology at Xavier University, Chris is passionate about conducting rigorous dialogue with his Christian lineage, seeking to excavate the gifts the tradition may have to offer for the common good. Mystical theology and interreligious dialogue are his primary fields of study. Chris facilitates small groups around the practice of Centering Prayer and other practices engaging the contemplative dimensions of faith. He resides in the Clifton neighborhood of Cincinnati, and can likely be found drinking good coffee with his friends at your local cafe.</p><h3>COVID EXPECTATIONS:</h3><h3>Starting Fall 2021, all in-person Hive events will re-open to the public.</h3><h3>Since the &quot;we space&quot; of the Hive is a community effort, it is important to us that we partner to make our space as safe as possible to the most vulnerable among us. </h3><h3>Because of this it is our policy to require masks if you are not yet fully vaccinated. In addition, We ask anyone who is feeling sick or has a high temperature to not attend classes until they are recovered. We will closely follow CDC guidelines in regards to hot spots and may require everyone to mask in certain instances of high transmission rates.</h3><h3>The intent is to live out a core value of the Hive, which is the co-creation of the common good. We trust that if you are in community with us that you will join this shared intention. We also offer a number of online alternatives if that better meets your needs.</h3>
