This training will provide an in-depth look at Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia. Are they the same or are they different?

Join us as presenter, Megan Byers, MSW, LMSW, gives us a better understanding of the terms Alzheimer’s disease and dementia are often used interchangeably, but are they the same 
thing? This presentation will define Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, identify types of dementia, 
and highlight the prevalence of the disease in the world, United States, and in South Carolina . Hosted by the Southern Unit! Earn 1.5 Social Work CEU&#x27;s.Presenter Info: Megan Byers, MSW, LMSW is the Program Coordinator for the Office for the Study of Aging in the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina. Ms. Byers has developed policies and training curricula, monitored legislative sessions to determine their impact on vulnerable adults, educated stakeholders on issues of adult maltreatment and dementia, and taught at universities as an adjunct instructor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Social Work, a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology, and Certificates in Research Administration, and in Innovative and Experimental Learning.
