Women in Alabama Lack Transportation to OB/GYN - Find out how Kid One is Helping!

Join the women of Zonta Club of Birmingham for our August meeting.Thursday, August 5, 202111:30 am - 1:00 pm (11:30 am - 11:45 am Networking &amp; Test Zoom)______________________________________________________________________________________________Guest Speaker, Matt HoldbrooksPresident &amp; CEO, Kid One (Birmingham, AL)Topic: Bridging the transportation gap that prevents thousands of Alabama’s children and expectant mothers from accessing much-needed health care services, thereby ensuring a higher quality of life for each individual and family that we serve.(Shown in photos)Latoya lives in Greene County and is over 30 miles from the nearest OB/GYN service, pediatrician, and dentist. She relied on Kid One Transport while pregnant to access prenatal care. She continues to use Kid One Transport for access to her children’s essential medical care to ensure that they thrive.Brittany lives in rural Shelby County over an hour away from UAB Specialty OB/GYN care. She utilized Kid One Transport to access weekly specialty OB/Gyn care during her high-risk pregnancy with twins. She was about to deliver two healthy babies thanks to the care she was able to access with rides provided by Kid One Transport. Matt serves as the executive officer for Kid One and reports to the board of directors. He oversees all aspects of the organization from operations to fundraising to strategic direction and leads a staff of 26 to achieve the mission of Kid One! Matt has 30+ years in healthcare, higher education, and non-profit operations.Kid One Transport is a non-profit medical transportation company focused on non-emergency transportation of children and expectant mothers. Based in Birmingham, Alabama the organization provides over 23,000 transports annually in a 45 -county service area.
