Please join our 6th Annual Urban BioBlitz, we are very excited that we are able to host the event in our own urban backyard! West Atlanta Watershed Alliance (WAWA) is inviting all of our partners, naturalists, scientists, professors, and any other individuals who may be interested identifing living things; including but not limited to: fungi, trees, herbaceous plants, arthropods, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals that are found at our 26-acre forest. We are expecting a fun day of biological inventory!  The BioBlitz will take place at the Outdoor Activity Center, a part of the Atlanta Children&#x27;s Forest Network, 1442 Richland Rd SW, Atlanta, 30310 on September 22. This event is for students of ALL AGES!!!!!For those who are not familiar with a BioBlitz, it is a period of biological surveying with the intentions of identifying all of the species in a designated area.  A BioBlitz is an opportunity for individuals to become more aware of the natural world in their community.Be sure to bring a smart phone or tablet, and download the iNaturalist App BEFORE you arrive to help us capture as many species as possible. See directions on how to download below.<h3>FAQ</h3>There are two ticket types for this event, which one is best for me?The DAYTIME FIELD TRIP ticket is great for homeschool groups, families that learn from home, college students, and others that may be interested in helping WAWA capture our specie biodiversity during the daytime. The AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM ticket is great for families with you that attend school during the day and would like to join us after the school day, and/or anyone that finds the PM time, most ideal. What should I bring?Great question! Always wear comfortable and weather-appropriate clothes and shoes. Be sure you don&#x27;t mind getting a little dirty in these items . Also bring a reusable water bottle (full of water!) and a snack, if preferred. MOST IMPORTANTLY, bring your SMARTPHONE or TABLET, and have the iNaturalist App downloaded before arriving to help us easily count species in the forest. (i.e.- if you are bringing 3 adults and 6 children, when you should register for 9 tickets)
