Is this event only for students?

The Bring Back the Trades Skills Expos are for all ages, but recommended for ages 10 and older.  The events are a great opportunity to learn more about the trades. The events are hands on, engaging experiences to help community members learn about opportunities in the trades in your area.

Can I bring my son/daughter?

Yes! We encourage parents to bring their kids of all ages (recommended for ages 10 and older). Parents often are highly influential in their children's post secondary path choices, and we want to share how many amazing opportunities there are in the trades.

Can you make  any money in the trades?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Now is an amazing time to enter the trades for a lucrative viable career. For every 5 trades people retiring, there are only 2 coming in. In simple supply and demand terms, the trades careers are in high demand! Come learn about wages and who is hiring.

Is this a job fair?

Not exactly—it's more than a job fair. While some attendees do get hired and there are great opportunities to connect with employers, it's really about hands-on learning and exploration. Our goal is to educate and inspire.

Question 5

Do I have to arrive right at 10?

Accepted Answer

No - you can arrive throughout the day to experience the event. Most experiences will go all day, but the keynote speakers and player appearances will be midday. Most people like to stay 2-4 hours at our events.
