This Weaving and Fiber Festival brings together textile lovers of all descriptions -- weavers, knitters, crocheters -- to shop, test drive weaving looms and take workshops in various types of textile arts.

Welcome to the Introduction to Kumihimo Braiding workshop in the Garden Room at Veterans Memorial Building! Join us on November 8, 2025 at 1:00 PM for a fun and creative session. Learn the art of Kumihimo Braiding and create beautiful patterns using colorful threads. No experience needed, just bring your enthusiasm! All materials are provided. Don't miss this opportunity to explore a traditional Japanese craft. About the instructor: Mae Chester is a fourth-generation weaver who has been doing many different forms of fiber-related arts since childhood. She studied textile design at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and worked in the industry for 10 years before moving to California to raise a family. A member of the Southern California Handweavers Guild, she frequently teaches workshops at Remainders in Pasadena.
