Brent Birckhead + Dominique GrayerMonday, August 2nd 20217pm seating | 7:30pm showAward-winning saxophonist, Brent Birckhead brings his intersectional amalgam of traditional and popular styles to Comet Ping Pong&#x27;s Spring Outdoor Music Series.Beginning July 19th and continuing into August, Comet will present a series of 7:00 pm concerts in the Comet Ping Pong parking lot for a limited audience of pre-reserved, seated, dine-in guests. The Summer schedule features artists ranging from jazz to bluegrass to indie rock and each performance will feature a comedy opening act to be announced.  Tickets will be sold through Eventbrite - by purchasing a table which seats up to 2, 4 or 8 guests per table.  There will be a 2 drink minimum for all attendees, food and drinks will be available to purchase from Comet Ping Pong, Buck&#x27;s Fishing &amp; Camping and Muchas Gracias.  Ticket prices:8 top table: $904 top table: $502 top table: $25In the event of rain, this concert will be rescheduled for Tuesday, August 3rd. Unbound by genre, Birckhead’s approach to woodwind artistry is driven by his compulsion for creative risk and deep respect for legacy. His place in the continuum of a storied lineage begins with his surname, Birckhead, and extends to his extensive musical education and work ethic as a visionary approach to life as a rising leader.Educated at Howard University (BME, MM), Birckhead was named best blues/pop/rock soloist and outstanding instrumental jazz soloist by Downbeat Magazine as part of the annual Student Music Awards. In 2011 Brent was named &quot;Best Alto Saxophonist&quot; by the Washington City Paper. The New York Times calls Birckhead “One of the most riveting young improvisers in New York.”The Baltimore native&#x27;s talent earned him the honor of performing and touring with legendary artists including Lauryn Hill, Nas, Wale, Eric Benet, Larry Graham, George Duke and many more.
