Community Cooking Night - Marcella Hazan's Fettuccine con le Vongole

Join Monica, Lance and the ICCM/BACFAD Team for a community cooking night. We will honor Marcella Hazan and her contribution to the divulgation of authentic Italian cuisine.Fettuccine (or Spaghetti) con le vongoleIngredients for 2 servings :2 dozen littleneck clams5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil2 large garlic cloves, peeled and sliced paper thin1 ½ tbsp. chopped parsley2 tsp. chopped fresh hot chili pepper, veins and seeds left in, or to taste1 fresh, ripe, firm plum tomato, cut into ½ -inch dice with its skin on, but seeded½ c. dry white wine½ pound dry pasta6 fresh basil leaves, rolled and sliced into ribbonsRecommended pasta: Fettuccine, spaghetti or linguine takes to clam sauces more successfully than other shapes.
